Dr. N.P.Singh did his M.A. Geography (1976) from Meerut University securing First Division. A Ph.D. in Geography (1982) he has served for about 34 years in various teaching, academic and administrative capacities at S.S.V. College, Hapur before taking his present position on 20th January, 2009 after selection by the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission (UPHESC), Allahabad.
He is a member of R.D.C. in Geography and Sports Council at CCS University, Meerut. He has been on several important committees (appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, CCS University, Meerut), like Convener, Panel of Experts for approval of subjects/ affiliation to CCS University; and Controller of Semester and Main Exams. He has also worked as UGC nominated expert for Interface Committees.

He has authored three books, one edited book. Presently he is working on an important area of research entitled “Climate Change: its impact on socio-economic development of U.P.” through a Major research project sanctioned to him by UGC since 2011. His earlier works include a Micro-level planning for the Garh–Mukteshwar Tehsil done in a research project sponsored in 1996 by ICSSR, New Delhi. He has produced more than a dozen Ph.D.s on the thrust areas of researches in Geography and has more than 35 research publications to his credit. As Chairman he has successfully organized more than 15 National Seminars funded by important agencies like UGC, CSIR, DBT, and ICSSR etc.
He is Chief-Patron of one national and three International Journals entitled, “Suraksha Chinton” (ISSN: 0976-3163), “International Journal of Social Sciences (ISSN: 2250 - 0812), Geographical Observer” (ISSN: 0072-0925) and “International Journal of Trade & Commerce” (ISSN: 2277-5811) published by Department of Defence Studies, Department of Geography and Depart of Commerce respectively.

His services to higher education have already been recognized by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Lion’s Club and Rotary International and he was awarded the ‘Best Educationist Award’ for outstanding achievements in the field of education by I.I.E.M., New Delhi on 21st January. Recently the National & International Compendium, New Delhi conferred on him the ‘Eminent Educationist Award’. Global Achievers Foundation has decided to honour him at the Global Achievers Summit to be held on 18th May, 2012 at Tashkent (Uzbekistan) by the prestigious ‘Asia Pacific International Award’.
